Meal'n & Deal'n was started in 2008 by a group of Illinois Institute of Art Chicago students. A discount card was offered free of charge to students, however a short list of local businesses and a lower discount rate, coupled with low visibility made it a poor choice for students. We decided to create a different system where students could save more, but feel more motivated to use the card since they had to spend some money on it. This model has the potential to drive more customers to the restaurant since students and businesses will save more money in the long run.
